In the latest report of the International Grains Council (IGC) from February, it is stated that the forecast for global grain production in agriculture for the 2023/2024 year has increased by 3.2 million tons and reached 2 billion 309.9 million tons. However, the forecast for wheat production has decreased to 788 million tons (-300 thousand tons compared to the January forecast).
Russia
- The forecast for grain production in Russia for the current agricultural year (July 2023 - June 2024) has been raised again from 133.6 million to 134.4 million tons. The forecast for wheat production has also increased and is now 91 million tons (+1 million).
- The International Grains Council's estimates suggest that grain exports from Russia will amount to 61 million tons (+300 thousand tons compared to the previous month's forecast). Wheat exports have also increased and are estimated at 50.4 million tons.
European Union
- The forecast for grain harvest in the European Union has slightly increased to 269.3 million tons (+200 thousand), while the wheat forecast has decreased from 133.2 million to 133.1 million tons.
- The estimate for grain exports remains at 48.2 million tons, and the wheat export estimate also remains unchanged at 34.3 million tons.
Kazakhstan
- The forecast for grain production in Kazakhstan has increased by 100 thousand tons and now stands at 16 million tons, while the wheat forecast remains unchanged at 12 million tons.
- The forecasts for grain and wheat exports also remain unchanged at 10.3 million and 9.4 million tons, respectively.
Ukraine
- The forecasts for grain and wheat in Ukraine remain unchanged. The total grain harvest will be 66.4 million tons, with wheat production at 28.7 million tons.
- The export of grains and wheat this season has been increased to 37 million and 15.5 million tons, respectively.
- The gross corn harvest remains unchanged at 30 million tons. The export also remains at 19.5 million tons, as in the January review.
