The analysts at Grains presented a forecast regarding rapeseed production in the European Union for the 2024/25 season, expecting a decrease in volume to 18.4 million tonnes, which is 1.4 million tonnes less than the previous season.
According to their opinion, this decline will be caused by a reduction in sown areas by 0.36 million tonnes, leading to a final value of 5.6 million hectares.
The forecast also predicts an increase in sunflower and soybean production in the European Union for the 2024/25 season. It is expected that sunflower production will increase to 10.7 million tonnes (+0.8 million tonnes per year), and soybeans to 3.1 million tonnes (+0.2 million tonnes) respectively. The sown area indicators will remain stable: sunflower will occupy 4.9 million hectares (no changes), and soybeans – 1.1 (0.1) million hectares.
