Analysts at Grains predict a decrease in rapeseed production to 18.4 million tons in the EU in 2024/25 due to a reduction in sown areas to 5.6 million hectares. However, sunflower production is expected to increase to 10.7 million tons and soybeans to 3.1 million tons. The sown areas for them will remain stable.

The analysts at Grains presented a forecast regarding rapeseed production in the European Union for the 2024/25 season, expecting a decrease in volume to 18.4 million tonnes, which is 1.4 million tonnes less than the previous season.

According to their opinion, this decline will be caused by a reduction in sown areas by 0.36 million tonnes, leading to a final value of 5.6 million hectares.

The forecast also predicts an increase in sunflower and soybean production in the European Union for the 2024/25 season. It is expected that sunflower production will increase to 10.7 million tonnes (+0.8 million tonnes per year), and soybeans to 3.1 million tonnes (+0.2 million tonnes) respectively. The sown area indicators will remain stable: sunflower will occupy 4.9 million hectares (no changes), and soybeans – 1.1 (0.1) million hectares.
