In 2024, the sowing area of all agricultural crops in the Saratov region reached 4.3 million hectares, which is 2% higher than the previous year.
Out of this total area, 2.44 million hectares are occupied by grain and leguminous crops, including 1.176 million hectares of winter crops.
Currently, 1.980 million hectares have already been harvested, which represents 83% of the planned volume. The gross grain harvest has reached 3.327 million tons with an average yield of 16.8 centners per hectare.
In the Ekaterinovsky municipal district, over 200 thousand tons of grain have already been harvested, and in 14 other municipal districts of the region, more than 100 thousand tons have been collected. In addition, the harvesting of potatoes, vegetables, melons, and forage crops continues.
The Minister noted that despite unfavorable weather conditions, the expected grain harvest in 2024 will amount to 4 million tons. This volume of grain will be sufficient to meet the region's needs for food products, seed procurement, livestock feed, and also for exports beyond the region.
Since the beginning of the year, agricultural producers have acquired 180 thousand tons of seeds, including 10 thousand tons for winter sowing.
The level of grain combine harvesters provision is 2.8 units per 1000 hectares, whereas in Russia this indicator is 2.6 units.
In 2024, 159 grain combine harvesters, 391 tractors, and over 1000 units of other agricultural machinery were already purchased amounting to over 8.0 billion rubles. Out of these, more than 682 units of machinery were supplied under federal and preferential leasing programs totaling 4.3 billion rubles.
The total state support for agriculture in 2024 amounted to 1.8 billion rubles, out of which 1 billion rubles were allocated for the development of crop production.
Financial resources are actively used in the region, contributing to the successful implementation of harvest plans. Roman Kovalsky noted that all fieldwork is carried out as usual and all technological requirements for cultivating agricultural crops are being observed.
