Regions are starting preparations for sowing winter crops for the 2025 harvest. Agricultural producers, surveyed by Agroinvestor, have not faced a shortage of necessary production resources, but they expect the cost of winter sowing to increase by at least 15%.

The agroholding "Steppe" has already begun preparations for sowing winter crops. By August 29, the company was provided with everything necessary for successful sowing operations. In the Rostov cluster, winter sowing will begin in early September, and in the Stavropol and Krasnodar regions - closer to mid-September. The sowing areas will remain at the level of the previous year, and there are no plans to reduce them.

The company's CEO, Andrey Neduzhko, noted that all the necessary production resources for the sowing campaign are purchased in advance, outside the period of increased demand and price hikes. However, it is worth noting the rise in prices for several key components. Winter wheat seeds have increased in price by about 30%, fertilizers by 15-25%, fuel by 15%, domestic agricultural machinery by 7%, and spare parts by 10%.

The enterprises of the AgroGard farm group plan to sow about 58 thousand hectares of winter cereals, which is 3 thousand hectares less than last year, as some land has been reallocated to spring crops. In addition, this year the enterprises of the Kuban branch have planned to sow winter rapeseed on a small area. Some of the enterprises managed by the group have already begun sowing winter crops. The optimal sowing dates for enterprises in the Central Federal District are August 25, and for farms in the Kuban branch - September 25. The group of enterprises is fully prepared for sowing and provided with everything necessary. However, the weather may affect the implementation of plans.

According to the forecasts of the manager, winter sowing for the 2025 harvest will become more expensive, which has been a trend in recent years. Seed costs have increased by 20% over the last two years, and costs for plant protection products have increased by 15%. Fertilizers have also gone up by 10%.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the agribusiness "Progress", Alexander Nezhenets, shared that winter sowing in the company will begin on October 1, as in previous years. He added that the preparations for sowing are proceeding in a normal mode, the areas under winter crops will remain at the level of the previous year. The cost increase of winter sowing in the company amounts to 15-20% in recent years, and this indicator is expected this year as well.

The dairy holding "EcoNiva" announced the start of winter sowing for the 2025 harvest on August 21. The campaign has already begun at the group's enterprises in the Kaluga region. During the autumn sowing, "EcoNiva" plans to sow 68.2 thousand hectares, mainly for winter wheat.
