In a message from the company "Miratorg," it was announced the delivery of a batch of pork to the client's warehouse in China. This is the first pork delivery from Russia to China after the market was opened for Russian products. The delivery volume was 27 tons, and the products were produced at the meat processing plant "Korocha" in the Belgorod region.
The container was shipped from the "Selyatino" station in March by rail to Vladivostok, from where it was loaded onto a ship to the Nansha port. The transportation was organized by the Russian transportation company Fesco. "We highly value the Chinese market and always comply with all veterinary requirements of the importing country," the message from the "Miratorg" company said. "Our main goal is to increase supply volumes and expand the range of meat products, taking into account the preferences of Chinese consumers."
In September of last year, the Rosselkhoznadzor announced China's permission to import pork from Russia after a risk assessment and analysis of the control system for African swine fever. In December, representatives of the General Customs Administration of China visited Russia to familiarize themselves with the veterinary supervision system, the activities of the research institutes of the Rosselkhoznadzor, pig farms, and the inspection of Russian pork producers. At the end of February this year, the companies "Miratorg," "Rusagro," and "Velikoluksky Meat Processing Plant" received permission to export their pork products to China.
Yuri Kovalev, the General Director of the National Union of Pig Breeders, emphasized at the conference "Agroinvestor: PRO Livestock and Compound Feeds" that the opening of the Chinese market provides new opportunities for Russian enterprises in terms of exports. He noted that in the Chinese market, there will be competition with Canada, the USA, and Brazil. Currently, Russia exports traditional by-products to China, such as feet, tails, ears, cheeks, and trachea. However, the union expects changes in the export structure, where 50% will consist of various meat cuts, and the remaining 50% will be by-products.
On April 2, another Russian pork and by-products production facility approved by the General Customs Administration of China, sent three batches of pig by-products to China totaling 167.99 tons. All batches were delivered by road transport to the seaport of St. Petersburg, then transported by sea to the ports of Shanghai and Yantian in China.
