In the region of Tatarstan, an increase in sugar production volumes is expected compared to last year, as reported by Almaz Gamirov, the deputy head of the Department of Food Market Development at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, according to the "Tatar-inform" news agency.
Currently, sugar beet harvesting is underway, with 61% of the total sown area already harvested, which amounts to 33.7 thousand hectares out of a total of 55.6 thousand hectares. The yield is 457 hundredweights per hectare, and it is expected to harvest over 2 million tons of sugar beets.
Gamirov assured that there will be no sugar shortage and prices will remain stable, as there are no prerequisites for their increase.
