15.9 million tons of grain were shipped via the railway network of Russian Railways (RZD) in six months, showing a 5.5% growth. The leading regions in grain transportation were Kursk, Saratov, and Volgograd oblasts.

In the first half of the year, 15.9 million tons of grain were sent via the Russian Railways network, which exceeds last year's figure by 5.5 percent, according to the company's press service.

The leaders in grain shipments by volume are:

• Kursk Oblast (1.5 million tons, an increase of 16.6 percent);
• Saratov Oblast (1.3 million tons, an increase of 14.5 percent);
• Volgograd Oblast (1.1 million tons, an increase of 14.2 percent).

Grain exports from January to June 2024 amounted to 11.3 million tons, indicating a growth of 7.8 percent. Through seaports, 7.4 million tons were shipped, which is an increase of 11.4 percent.

The shipment of grain to the ports of the South amounted to 6.8 million tons, indicating an increase of 4.7 percent. 96 thousand tons of grain were sent to the ports of the Russian Far East, representing a growth of 29.4 percent, and to the ports of the Northwestern region — 475 thousand tons, an increase of 10 times.

Almost 4 million tons of grain were shipped via border crossings, an increase of 1.7 percent.
