The processing volume of oilseeds in the EU increased by 11% in October: rapeseed, soybeans, sunflower seeds. In total, 3.32 million tons were processed.

According to information provided by Fediol, in October there was an increase in the volumes of oilseeds processed in the European Union by 11% compared to the previous month. The total processing volume reached 3.32 million tons, exceeding the data for October 2023 (when 2.91 million tons were processed).

It is worth noting that the processing volume of rapeseed in October was 1.69 million tons (compared to 1.55 million tons in September and 1.68 million tons in October 2023). Soybean processing reached 1.07 million tons (compared to 1.02 million tons in September and 0.75 million tons in October 2023), while sunflower processing amounted to 554 thousand tons (compared to 425 thousand tons in September and 484 thousand tons in October 2023).

Thus, the total processing volume of oilseeds in the EU since the beginning of 2024 reached 33.04 million tons, with capacity for processing 38.8 million tons, exceeding the data for January-October 2023 (when 31.45 million tons were processed). In particular, rapeseed processing amounted to 16.54 million tons (compared to 15.92 million tons), soybean processing – 11.53 million tons (compared to 11.28 million tons), and sunflower processing – 4.96 million tons (compared to 4.26 million tons).
