Agricultural producers of the Stavropol Territory have started harvesting corn. The first harvest of this crop has already been received in Levokumskoi, Petrovsky, Izobilnensky and Krasnogvardeisky districts, the press service and information policy department of the governor and government of the Stavropol Territory reports on September 4.
“Agrarians threshed corn on an area of 1.4 thousand hectares, receiving 7.5 thousand tons. In total, work is to be carried out on an area of more than 130,000 hectares. It is important that favorable weather conditions made it possible to start harvesting on time,” said Elena Tambovtseva, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
Stavropol corn is actively sold to other countries, the largest exporters of the crop are Azerbaijan, Armenia and Belarus.
Earlier, the governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov, said that in 2023, farmers received 3 billion rubles of state support.
