In the Stavropol region, grain exports increased by 53% in 2023

In 2023, grain exports from the Stavropol region reached 757 thousand tons, increasing by 53%. The total export of agro-industrial products grew by 53% to 1.2 million tons. Despite the difficulties and termination of cooperation with many countries, more than 40 new supply contracts were concluded. The main task is to increase the export of high-value products. Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, China, Iran, Syria, and Cuba are the largest importers for the region.

Grain exports from the Stavropol Territory in 2023 reached 757 thousand tons, the press service of the regional Ministry of Economic Development told reporters. Thus, the volume of exports increased by 53%.

“757 thousand tons were exported against 492 thousand tons of grain (in 2022 - TASS note), as well as 493 thousand tons of food products with high added value versus 306 thousand tons in the same period of 2022,” the statement says. .

According to the regional Ministry of Economy, in general, exports of agricultural products from the Stavropol Territory reached 1.2 million tons, which is 53% more than last year. Exports of pasta and animal feed increased by 2.2 times, supplies of confectionery, flour, mineral water and cereals increased by 40%, meat and dairy products - by 35%.

“Despite the difficulties faced by enterprises and the cessation of cooperation with 18 countries, this year our manufacturers and importing countries from near and far abroad have concluded more than 40 new supply agreements. At the same time, our main task is to increase the export of high-margin products that ensure loading production capacity of the region,” the press service of the region’s Minister of Economic Development Denis Polyubin quotes.

The largest importers for the Stavropol region are Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, China, Iran, Syria and Cuba. Exporters in the region are supported, among other things, by the regional state program “Economic Development and Innovative Economy.”
