The FAO reports a historic record in world food prices in February.
In February, the food price index reached 140.7 points, which is 3.9% higher than in January and 24.1% higher than in February of the previous year. Prices for vegetable oils and dairy products showed particularly high growth.
Sugar prices fell by 1.9% due to improved weather conditions in Brazil and favorable crop prospects in major exporting countries such as India and Thailand.
