World food prices reached a historic record in February, according to FAO.

The FAO reported that global food prices reached a historic high in February. The index rose by 3.9% compared to January and by 24.1% year-on-year.

The biggest price increases were observed in vegetable oils and dairy products, while sugar prices decreased by 1.9%.

The FAO reports a historic record in world food prices in February.

In February, the food price index reached 140.7 points, which is 3.9% higher than in January and 24.1% higher than in February of the previous year. Prices for vegetable oils and dairy products showed particularly high growth.

Sugar prices fell by 1.9% due to improved weather conditions in Brazil and favorable crop prospects in major exporting countries such as India and Thailand.
