The Ministry of Agriculture, known as the Ministry of Agriculture (MinSelkhoz), has presented its plans to increase agricultural production by 2030. One of the main goals is to increase the export of products that are in demand in international markets. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture, Oksana Lut, during a strategic session in the government on the national projects "Longevity and Active Life" and "Technological Provision of Food Security". In accordance with President Vladimir Putin's decree on national development goals, agricultural production should grow by 25% compared to the data for 2021.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted that Russia is the largest exporter of wheat and one of the largest suppliers of grains, legumes, sunflower and rapeseed oils. He emphasized that no restrictions or sanctions have hindered the development of domestic agricultural raw materials and food products in the international market. However, to further develop the production and export of agricultural products, it is necessary to ensure technological independence from external suppliers.
Important areas of development include plant breeding and genetics, production of veterinary drugs, plant protection products, additives, as well as increasing the volume of agricultural machinery and equipment production. The use of investment quotas for the renewal of the fishing fleet also proves to be an effective mechanism for industry development. The head of the government also noted that such a comprehensive approach will allow offering other countries full-fledged technological partnership, which is an important direction set by the head of state.
To achieve the national goal of technological leadership, production must rely on its own resources and require cooperation between various departments. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev emphasized the importance of cooperation in the field of seed production, biotechnology, machinery, and equipment. He noted that this can be achieved through the development of existing incentive mechanisms and national projects such as "Means of Production and Automation".
Another important aspect is workforce training. Patrushev noted the need to adjust the education system and popularize the industry so that employers receive highly qualified specialists. Currently, MinSelkhoz, together with the Ministry of Education, is developing plans to modernize the workforce training system.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that within the framework of strengthening investments in fixed capital, a joint dialogue will be conducted between various parties, which contributes to the further development of the agricultural sector. It is expected that by 2030, the volume of investments should increase by 60%. To achieve all the set goals, it is necessary to develop appropriate mechanisms within national projects and state programs.
In May of this year, Oksana Lut announced that MinSelkhoz is working on the national project "Technological Provision of Food Security". Within this project, eight federal projects will be implemented to reduce dependence on imports of essential products.
