Lipetsk farmers harvested the second million tons of sugar beets

In the Lipetsk region, sweet root crops are being harvested in all areas. This year, the area allocated for sugar beets is 109 thousand hectares.

Currently, the sugar beet harvest has been harvested from 41 thousand hectares, which amounts to 2 million 21 thousand tons of this root crop. This year's beet yield exceeds last year's figures by almost 100 centners, reaching an average of 493 centners per hectare.

The sugar beet processing process takes place at six sugar factories. From 1.7 million tons of processed beets, 225 thousand tons of sugar were produced.

It is worth noting that the Lipetsk region maintains its leading position in sugar production, being among the top three regions in the country for this indicator.
