China increased soybean imports by 2.8% in the first eight months of 2023, reaching 70.48 million tons.

According to official data from the China Customs Administration, during the period of January-August of the current year, China acquired 70.48 million tons of soybeans on the external markets. This figure exceeds the import volume for the same period of the previous year by 2.8%. Grain Online agency reports this information. It is worth noting that in April of the current year, China increased the soybean import volume to 12.14 million tons.

According to data for the entire past year 2023, China acquired a total volume of soybeans amounting to 99.41 million tons. It is noted that the main suppliers of soybeans to China are Brazil and the USA.
