"Kernel" about the processing and export of sunflower in the second quarter of 2024

In the second quarter of 2024, the Kernel agricultural holding processed 811 thousand tons of sunflower seeds, which is 24% higher than last year’s results. This was reported in the company's report for the second quarter of 2024 FR.

Sales of sunflower oil increased by 13% compared to last year and amounted to more than 388 thousand tons. This became possible thanks to the large volume of sunflower seed processing and the use of various export logistics options, including deep-sea ports of the Black Sea. Sales of bottled sunflower oil accounted for 6% of total sales.

Kernel was able to increase the throughput of the export terminal by 11.2 times thanks to a temporary corridor for commercial shipping. In October-December 2023, the volume of transshipment of grain, sunflower oil and sunflower cake reached 1,805 thousand tons. This includes transshipment services provided to third parties (65 thousand tons).

The volume of grain exports from Ukraine in the second quarter of 2024 increased by 8.4 times and reached 1.7 million tons.
