The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Kaluga Region, Gennady Novoseltsev, the Deputy Governor Vladimir Popov, and the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Department for the Bryansk, Smolensk, and Kaluga Regions, Svetlana Zemchenkova. The event was chaired by the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, Alexander Efremov.
The Minister expressed gratitude to his colleagues for successfully exceeding planned performance indicators even in challenging economic and weather conditions. Agricultural production in agricultural organizations increased by 104% at comparable prices.
The region fully provides itself with basic food products: milk by 162%, meat by 105.6%, potatoes and vegetables by almost 100%. New production directions are also being developed. A significant part of this success is due to the state support amounting to 2.4 billion rubles provided last year.
Issues related to the food security of the country remain a priority for all levels of government. Russian farmers will need to increase the overall volume of agricultural production by 25% over the next six years.
Alexander Efremov believes that the goals set for the agro-industrial complex of the Kaluga Region until 2030 are quite achievable. In particular, it is planned to increase the production of fruit and berry crops sixfold, oilseeds by 50%, and potatoes and grain crops by a third.
The most ambitious goal for livestock breeders in the Kaluga Region is to achieve a production volume of one million tons of milk, which implies a growth of 40%.
Vladimir Popov emphasized that the planned activities will be implemented, including through the new national project "Technological Support for Food Security," which includes five key areas: breeding and genetics, enzymes and feed additives, veterinary drugs and vaccines, technologies and equipment, as well as workforce training for the industry.
Addressing the agrarians of the Kaluga Region and their colleagues, the Deputy Governor noted that one of the main tasks is to maintain the achieved dynamics and ensure the domestic market with quality and affordable products. It is also necessary to continue participation in federal programs, increase production efficiency, and implement innovative technologies.
