During January-September 2024, Iran purchased around 2.4 million tons of corn from Russia, according to the data from the federal center "Agroexport" in its Telegram channel.
This volume marks a significant increase compared to the same period last year, when shipments amounted to 1.5 million tons. In other words, the import grew by more than 1.6 times compared to the previous year.
The most active importers of corn from Russia during the first nine months of 2024 were the following countries:
- Iran took the first place.
- Turkey took the second place.
- Libya took the third place.
