According to official data provided by the Ministry of Trade and Integration in Kazakhstan, the republican index for socially significant food products remains unchanged for the second week in a row and stands at 100%. The price index for socially important goods also shows stability since the beginning of the current year, at 99.9%, which is 0.1% lower than the initial level. This information was revealed during a government meeting.
During the past week, a decrease in prices was observed for 10 types of products. This group includes items such as carrots (a decrease of 1.8%), buckwheat (a decrease of 0.7%), bread and sugar (a decrease of 0.3%), eggs (a decrease of 0.2%), as well as flour, rice, sunflower oil, milk, and cottage cheese (a decrease of 0.1%). Other products, including pasta, butter, beef, chicken meat, and kefir, maintained stable prices.
The situation with food prices in different regions also remains stable. In four regions of the country – Astana, Karaganda, Kostanay, and Zhambyl regions – price stability is observed. Price decreases were recorded in five regions: Ulytau (-0.6%), Turkestan region (-0.4%), Mangystau and West Kazakhstan regions (-0.2%), as well as Almaty region (-0.1%).
