Harvesting of oilseeds in the Ryazan region continues successfully. The region's Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported on current progress.
At the moment, farmers have already harvested more than half a million tons of oilseeds. Corn was removed from 60% of the area, resulting in 218 thousand tons of grain. Sunflower was harvested on 83% of the area, and we received 138 thousand tons of oilseeds. Soybean harvesting is in its final stages, and at the moment we have harvested 98% of the area, receiving 216 thousand tons of soybeans. This is the largest harvest in the history of the Ryazan region.
In general, the gross harvest of oilseeds, including sunflower, soybeans, rapeseed, flax, mustard and others, reached 517 thousand tons. This is a record set in 2022, and at the same time became the average for the last 10 years. The grain harvest is expected to be around 2.9 million tonnes, also one of the highest in the region's history.
Sugar beets were completely harvested, and we received 424 thousand tons of root crops. This is the maximum figure over the past 10 years. Most of the harvest will be sent for processing at the Sotnitsynsky sugar factory, where 162.2 thousand tons of root crops have already been sent. Enterprises of the Alexander Nevsky district also sent 194.1 thousand tons to a sugar factory in the Tambov region.
