The conference was attended by the first vice-governor and the first deputy chairman of the Government of the Orenburg region – Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Food, and Processing Industry of the Orenburg region, Sergey Balykin, deputy ministers, deputies of the Regional Assembly, heads of agricultural departments of municipalities, rector of the Orenburg State Agrarian University Alexey Goncharov, representatives of the banking sector, and executives of interested organizations.
The main focus of the meeting opening was on the importance of peasant (farm) farms and personal subsidiary plots for the development of the region's agro-industrial complex.
Currently, there are approximately 2500 peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs engaged in agriculture in the region, as well as 27 agricultural consumer cooperatives. These farms cultivate over 1.6 million hectares of farmland, of which 1.154 million hectares are arable land.
In 2024, farmers in the region achieved significant success: the area under crops in peasant farms exceeded 2 million hectares, and the gross harvest of cereals and leguminous crops reached around 2 million tons, accounting for 50.6% of the total production volume in the region.
The share of farm farms in the region's total agricultural production was 25.6%, including 38.4% in crop production and 6.4% in livestock farming.
Sergey Balykin emphasized that the Government of the Russian Federation and the Orenburg region actively support small forms of farming, providing them access to state support within the program "Development of Agriculture and Regulation of Agricultural Products, Raw Materials, and Food Markets in the Orenburg Region."
The accountability report at the conference was presented by the chairman of the Orenburg Region ACCOR Alexander Khizhnyak, who noted that the key goal of the farming community is to ensure food security in the region and the country. He also mentioned farmers who demonstrate high yields of grains, sunflowers, and are actively engaged in livestock farming. Such farmers can be found in various regions of the region.
Alexander Khizhnyak separately noted the regular support provided by farmers to participants in a special military operation (SMO). For example, one of the ACCOR district chairpersons escorts humanitarian aid to the SMO zone.
The conference adopted a resolution, where the work of the regional ACCOR council was assessed as satisfactory, and key areas of work for 2025 were also identified. The event selected a new composition of the regional ACCOR council and its chairman, as well as approved members of the audit commission.
