During the first seven months of 2024, Russia exported food products and agricultural raw materials (excluding textiles) amounting to 23.9 billion dollars, which is 4.6% less than the previous year when this figure was 25.1 billion dollars. This information is provided in the documents submitted by the Federal Customs Service.
Specifically, the import of agricultural products decreased by 0.8% to 21.1 billion dollars compared to 21.2 billion dollars for January-July 2023.
It is worth recalling that in May 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin set the goal of increasing agricultural exports by 1.5 times by 2030, with a target of 55 billion dollars.
It was previously reported that in August 2024, Russia exported a record volume of grains for this period — 5.6 million tons, despite unfavorable market conditions such as competition from Eastern European grain, declining sales by farmers, and a ban on exports to Kazakhstan.
