Experts from the Pavlovsky district branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in the Voronezh region have successfully tested the seed plantings of amaranth of the UNIVERSAL variety on the territory of the Slavyane JSC, where 3 hectares were sown. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Agricultural Center.
The seeds belong to individual entrepreneur Saratovsky Alexey Leonidovich.
"One of the significant advantages of amaranth is its tolerance to drought, as it does not require a large amount of water for its growth. The plant is capable of forming seeds during dry weather and easily tolerates low temperatures. Amaranth even benefits from autumn frosts, as they contribute to the ripening of seeds," - noted in the local branch of Rosselkhoztsentr.
Amaranth responds well to agricultural methods, has a low sowing rate, grows quickly, and is resistant to diseases and pests.
The highlight of amaranth is its high seed productivity and ability to multiply rapidly.
The conducted study confirmed the compliance of the tested variety of plantings with the declared variety. No impurities, diseases, or damage from pests were found.
