China has become the main export country for Ural agricultural products in 2023

Kazakhstan is in second place among the countries where the products of Ural farmers are in demand, and the Republic of Belarus is in third place. In total, agricultural products produced in the Sverdlovsk region are exported to 26 countries around the world.

“China is in greatest demand for flax seeds; now their export is an actively developing area of work for our region. Compared to last year, flax exports increased sevenfold. In addition, agricultural producers in the Middle Urals supply rapeseed oil and confectionery products to China. The wafer sweets from the Confi factory are especially popular. Among my favorite varieties are, for example, “Baked Milk” and “Ariadna,” said Anna Kuznetsova, Minister of Agriculture and Consumer Market of the Sverdlovsk Region.

The Ekaterinburg company “Biologik”, producer of honey under the brand “Berestov A.S.”, also successfully exports its products to China. and healthy sweets. Now Ural honey and natural and healthy sweets are supplied to the USA, China, South Korea, UAE, Taiwan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and other neighboring countries.

In 2023, the Biologic company became a winner of the prestigious Exporter of the Year award, winning the nomination Exporter of the Year in the field of prepared food products of the agro-industrial complex (high processing) among small and medium-sized enterprises of the Ural Federal District.

Chinese partners supply self-propelled equipment and loaders to the Sverdlovsk region; the equipment is in demand by Ural farmers, so supply volumes are constantly increasing.

Speaking about the general indicators of exports of agricultural products in the Sverdlovsk region, exports of grain legumes increased more than 100 times in 2023. Exports of wheat and oats increased by more than 20 times compared to last year. In addition, in 2023, a new product group for the export of agricultural products in the region appeared - barley and rye. Also, pork exports increased almost 10 times.

Let us recall that the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation Zhang Hanhui discussed promising areas of cooperation between the Sverdlovsk Region and the People's Republic of China in Yekaterinburg during the international exhibition INNOPROM and the Seventh Russian-Chinese Expo. The development of partnerships between countries meets the objectives of the national project “International Cooperation and Export”.
