Since the early morning of May 27, various batches of plant products have been delivered to the main city of the Southern Urals:
- 40 tons of plums from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan,
- 36 tons of tomatoes from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan,
- 33.3 tons of sweet peppers from Uzbekistan and Iran,
- almost 40 tons of cherries from Uzbekistan,
- 28 tons of apricots from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan,
- 46 tons of onions from Uzbekistan,
- 22 tons of beets from Uzbekistan,
- 20 tons of bay leaves from Georgia.
After a thorough inspection conducted by officials of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration, samples were taken and sent to the Chelyabinsk branch of the FGBU "VNIIZZH". If no quarantine pests are found in the vegetables and fruits, then all the products will be allowed for sale.
The Chelyabinsk region receives the majority of vegetables and fruits from the Republic of Uzbekistan: in just one day, this supplier sent 65% of the total volume of plant products to the region, namely 171 tons.
