The total weight of the shipments amounted to 1.6 thousand tons.
More than 1.6 thousand tons of animal feed wheat were exported from the Nizhny Novgorod region at the end of July and in mid-August 2024, using barges as a means of transportation. According to the press service of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), the grain was shipped along rivers to the Yaroslavl and Vologda regions.
Employees of the regional branch of this state organization inspected each batch of goods that was shipped, took samples for further laboratory research. The samples were sent to the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "All-Russian Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Protection." As a result of the experiments carried out, it was confirmed that the products meet the quarantine requirements for phytosanitary condition.
"The Oka and Volga rivers in the Nizhny Novgorod region have the necessary infrastructure for convenient and efficient grain transportation within the country. Moreover, they have the potential for future export deliveries," the statement added.
