Field work has already begun in 16 districts, where farmers are irrigating the soil and fertilizing winter crops and perennial grasses. By the middle of the week, they have also started sowing barley.
This year, due to warm weather, field work and sowing started two weeks earlier than usual. In the current season, the timing aligns with the average norm for these activities.
"Mechanized agricultural workers from the Avangard enterprise in Vavozh were the first to start sowing. Farmers from Igor Korostin's farm in the Karakulinsky district were also not far behind. By the way, we supported this farm with a grant 'Agrostartup' three years ago. Their equipment has been inspected - this spring, more than 4,000 tractors, seeders, and trucks will be operating in the fields. In addition, enterprises have purchased approximately 120 units of new equipment," said Alexander Brechalov, the Head of Udmurtia, on social media.
Altogether, it is planned to sow more than 922 thousand hectares of various crops. 57% of them will consist of fodder crops, about 39% - of cereals and leguminous plants, 2% - of technical crops, and 2.2% - of potatoes and vegetable crops. In general, there are seeds available for sowing, but seed treatment is still ongoing.
Agriculturists have already applied 5.8 thousand hectares of fertilizers for winter and perennial grasses, continue to apply substances to an area of 550 hectares and identify about 8 thousand tons of seeds.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Udmurtia, more than 2.2 billion rubles will be required for this year's sowing campaign. State support is estimated at 934 million rubles, and preferential loans for farms and enterprises' own funds amount to 327 million rubles and nearly 1 billion rubles, respectively.
Agricultural organizations also continue to prepare machinery for sowing, which is currently assessed at 93%.
Farmers have sufficient reserves of fertilizers. In total, 9.4 thousand tons of active substances have been prepared. The majority was provided by farms in the Vavozh, Sarapul, and Mozhga districts.
The head of the region wished success to mechanized workers, engineers, drivers, and agronomists in sowing. "May this year be fruitful," he wished.
