Grain stocks in Kazakhstan as of April 1, 2023 amounted to 11 million 940 thousand 655 tons. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of stored grain has decreased by 3.8 million tons (as of January 1 - 15 million 775 thousand 983 tons, inbusiness.kz reports citing data from the Bureau of National Statistics.
According to the statistical agency, more than 9.3 million tons of food grains, 1.5 million tons of seeds and more than 1.1 million feed grains remain in the storage facilities of Kazakhstan.
The stock of wheat is 9.8 million tons, including 8.3 million - food, 1.2 million - seeds, 271.4 thousand - fodder.
There are 1.4 million tons of barley, 129 thousand tons of corn, 141.9 thousand tons of rice, 126 thousand tons of oats, and 48 thousand tons of buckwheat.
Of the total volume, 4.1 million tons of grain is stored by agricultural producers, 2 million tons by individual entrepreneurs and farms. Millers have 1.2 million tons, 3.3 million tons at elevators, 245 thousand tons at warehouses of wholesalers and 934 thousand tons at other legal entities.
Earlier it was reported that surpluses of grain and flour of the old crop are predicted in Kazakhstan. Until September 1, their size will amount to 3.8 million tons.
