One of Europe's largest oil production plants launched in Togliatti

Governor Dmitry Azarov took part in the opening of the enterprise

On Thursday, September 7, 2023, in the Samara region, on the territory of the Togliatti SEZ, the first stage of an oilseeds processing plant was launched. The start of its work was given by the governor Dmitry Azarov and the general director of the enterprise Mikhail Smirnov.

The plant was built in 1.5 years. It was equipped with modern equipment for complex cleaning and packaging of oils. The Togliatti Food Processing Plant (TKPP) is designed to process 600 thousand tons of oilseeds per year. These are sunflower, rapeseed and flax. Investments in the first stage amounted to 15 billion rubles. Thanks to the launch of the enterprise, over 700 jobs were created in the region.

Dmitry Azarov examined the workshops of the plant, which occupies an area of 50 hectares, and talked with its employees. According to Mikhail Smirnov, the enterprise has become one of the largest in Europe. After a while, the construction of the second stage of the plant will start, and then the third. Thanks to this, the productivity of the plant will more than double. And the increase in the volume of processing, in turn, will become an impetus for the development of local farms.

- The project is really large-scale and very important for our region, - the governor said.

The head of the region noted that in recent years the Samara region has made a strong breakthrough in its investment attractiveness. This has been repeatedly noted at the federal level.

- The opening of this large-scale production once again confirms that the efforts were not in vain. It's not about some ratings, it's about specific industries. There are new industries, new jobs. Ultimately, this is an increase in the level of people's well-being, - Dmitry Azarov emphasized.

The governor added that the special economic zone gives a powerful impetus to the development of not only Togliatti, but the entire Samara region. The authorities intend to further develop the SEZ. We are talking about the creation of infrastructure for the third stage of the SEZ.
