At the same time, the pace of harvesting is still significantly behind last year's.
- As of September 3, in the Novosibirsk region, grain and leguminous crops were cut on an area of 228 thousand hectares, threshed - 218 thousand. The gross harvest amounted to 360 thousand tons, the current yield is 16.5 centners per hectare, - Evgeny Leshchenko, Minister of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region, said at an operational meeting in the regional government.
According to him, to date, grain crops have been harvested by 14% of the harvested area. Harvesting rates lag behind last year due to unfavorable climatic conditions.
— On the grain market, we note a further increase in the selling price. The average price at which agricultural producers sold the third-class wheat crop last week was 12,214 rubles per ton, and the fourth-class grain - 11,034 rubles per ton, Leshchenko said. — The rate of shipment of grain outside the region is gradually increasing.
Since September 1, 2022, 952,000 tons have been exported by rail, including 723,000 for export. In August, 62 thousand tons were shipped. The rest of the grain in the elevators and the HSP of the region is 545 thousand tons, their loading is 31%.
The government of the region assures that the harvest of 2023 will be enough for the needs of the region.
- For domestic consumption in the Novosibirsk region, about 1.8 million tons of grain and leguminous crops are required. At the same time, the surplus will be more than 500 thousand tons of raw materials from the 2023 harvest and about 380 thousand tons of unsold carry-over residues from the 2022 harvest. This will make it possible to completely cover all the needs for grain and fulfill all obligations to consumers,” Evgeny Leshchenko clarified.
Recall that in October 2022, third-class grain was sold at a price of 10.8 thousand per ton, fourth-class - 9.4 thousand, and feed - 8.2 thousand. Given that the cost of grain production in the region was 9.8 thousand rubles per ton. In March 2023, the average price of third-class wheat was 11.6 thousand per ton, fourth-class - 10.7 thousand, feed - 8.6 thousand. In June, some enterprises in the region shipped third-class grain at a price of 12,000 rubles per ton. Some agrarians held wheat in the hope of selling it at a higher price in the fall.
Earlier, the editors reported that this year the grain harvest in the region will be 30-40% lower than in 2022 due to drought.
