On the plots of the "North-Kuban Agricultural Experimental Station" - a branch of the "NTsZ im. P.P. Lukyanenko” — harvesting of winter barley was completed. According to the results of ecological variety testing, the novelties of Krasnodar scientists - the Cup, Yuri, Kladenets and Mir showed excellent results. The average yield of selective crops exceeded 80 q/ha.
- In the production crops, winter barley in the fields of the North Kuban Agricultural Experimental Station gave the best result in the Leningrad region: more than 70 centners per hectare. At the same time, the yield of barley could have been even higher, but the weather let it down, namely, January frosts and heavy May rains with wind, - says the director of the station, candidate of agricultural sciences Viktor Vladimirovich Gukalov.

Despite the weather surprises in the branch of the “National Grain Center named after. P.P. Lukyanenko” harvested a decent harvest of winter barley on time. Now we have begun harvesting winter wheat. This year, it is planned to harvest 4,000 tons of elite seeds of barley, wheat and peas at the SKSHOS grain stock.

The seeds of the Krasnodar selection are very much awaited by the farmers of the Rostov region: the varieties of the “NTsZ im. P.P. Lukyanenko" is grown in 23 districts out of 42. According to preliminary applications, on August 1, seeds of higher reproductions will be received by farmers from other regions: from the Kuban to Siberia. Expanding the geography of sowing varieties of the Kuban selection, along with strengthening food security within the country, are the key tasks for breeders and grain growers.
