Crimean farmers harvested 1.7 thousand tons of sunflower seeds. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Andrei Savchuk. In total, this crop will have to be removed from an area of more than 56.5 thousand hectares in the republic.
“Agrarians have already harvested crops from an area of 1.2 thousand hectares. Work continues. The farms of the Krasnogvardeisky, Krasnoperekopsky, Leninsky and Razdolnensky districts were the first to start harvesting. The average sunflower yield this year is not bad - 15.9 centners per hectare. This is higher than last year. Now our agricultural producers are also harvesting chickpeas, millet, flax and coriander,” Andriy Savchuk commented.
The head of the Crimean Ministry of Agriculture also added that in the republic all crops have already been harvested on about 710 thousand hectares, which is about the planned 90% of the area from which more than 2 million 300 thousand tons have been harvested. Of these, early grain and leguminous crops were harvested from an area of almost 587,000 hectares. More than 2 million 250 thousand tons in bunker weight have been threshed. The average yield of these crops is 38.5 centners per hectare. Early grain crops were harvested from an area of 556.6 thousand hectares with an average yield of 39.3 centners per hectare, which is 99.8%, according to the TG channel of the Ministry of Agriculture of Crimea Z.
