According to the Eurasian Sugar Association, by the ninth of September of the current year, 209 thousand hectares of sugar beets have been harvested in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. In Russia, 197.1 thousand hectares were harvested, which is 10.4% more than last year. However, the harvested crop volume decreased by 1.4 million tons, totaling 7 million tons with an average yield of 354 hundredweight per hectare. Additionally, the sugar content in beets increased by 2-2.5% compared to the previous year.
In Belarus, sugar beet harvesting began 10-12 days earlier than last year. Currently, 507.8 thousand tons of beets have been harvested with an average yield of 435 hundredweight per hectare. In Kazakhstan, the acceptance of the new harvest of beets started on September 10, while in Kyrgyzstan, harvesting will begin at the end of this week.
