In the Ulyanovsk region, farmers are planning to reduce the areas allocated for sugar beet cultivation. On February 3, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the region, Alexey Leushkin, informed about this during a development headquarters meeting.
A significant reduction is planned in three districts:
- Tsilninsky district - by 3022 hectares,
- Ulyanovsky district - by 1175 hectares,
- Cherdaklinsky district - by 1317 hectares.
The reduction in areas is due to unfavorable weather conditions and increasing costs. The minister is calling on local authorities to take measures to prevent a decrease in sowings, as this crop is important for the operation of sugar factories.
