The process of harvesting sugar beets in the Kursk region is coming to an end. According to operational data, 90.5 thousand hectares of beet plantations have been harvested, which is 86 percent of the planned volume. The average yield was 447 centners per hectare, resulting in the collection of over 4 million tons of beets.
Sugar beet is processed at seven sugar plants in the Kursk region. By the beginning of November 2024, the beet reception points at the plants had accepted around 2 million 367 thousand tons of sugar beetroots. Of these, approximately 1 million 753 thousand tons of beet raw material have been processed, resulting in over 274 thousand tons of sugar and 65 thousand tons of granulated beet pulp.
