According to RIA Novosti news agency, Turkey and the United Nations are actively working on proposals for Russia to resume the grain deal. An insider participating in the negotiations reported that proposals are currently being developed jointly with the UN, but not all the details have been resolved, especially regarding banking issues. The negotiations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, President Vladimir Putin stated at the BRICS business forum that if Turkey fulfills its obligations to Russia, Moscow is ready to return to the grain deal. The President reminded that none of the deal conditions has been met, even though they involved lifting Russian grain and fertilizers from sanctions and supplying them to global markets.
The grain deal was terminated on July 18 when Russia officially notified Turkey, Ukraine, and the UN of its intention not to extend the deal.
