UK wheat exports slow down in June

In June this year. The UK reduced wheat exports, but the total volume of grain shipments this season exceeded the previous MY, according to Nasdaq.

Thus, according to customs statistics, the UK exported 99.08 thousand tons of wheat in June, which was the minimum figure for the last 8 months, and is also significantly inferior to the figure in May this year. (156.6 thousand tons). The main importer of British grain in June was Spain, which bought 72.6 thousand tons.

In total, in 2022/23 MY, the UK shipped 1.58 million tons of wheat to foreign markets, which is significantly higher than the result of the previous season (511.1 thousand tons).

As for wheat imports into the country, in June its volume amounted to 127.03 thousand tons, and the total volume in 2022/23 MY reached 1.35 million tons, which is lower than the result of the previous MY (1.99 million tons). The main volumes of wheat in June were imported from Canada - 75.3 thousand tons.
