Tambov farmers have started sunflower harvesting

In total, almost 412,000 hectares of fields have been allocated for oilseeds.

Agrarians of Bondarsky, Zherdevsky, Pichaevsky and Rasskazovsky districts have begun sunflower harvesting. Here it is necessary to harvest from more than 66 thousand hectares of fields.

Most of the sunflower fields are located in the Petrovsky district - over 28 thousand hectares. And in the Tambov District, the crop will be harvested from 26,000 hectares. The same area is sown with oilseeds in the Inzhavinsky district. In total, sunflower this year occupies almost 412,000 hectares of fields.

Recall that in 2021, more than a million tons of sunflower were harvested in the Tambov region for the first time. About 900 thousand tons of oilseeds were harvested last year. According to experts, this efficiency was achieved thanks to the competent use of fertilizers, as well as the use of modern technology. In the Tambov region, seven enterprises are engaged in the processing of sunflower seeds.
