New rates of customs duties are set from July 26 to August 1, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Export duty:
for wheat - will decrease by 310.5 rubles: from 3,022.6 to 2,712.1 rubles per ton;
for barley - remains zero;
for corn - will decrease by 324.6 rubles - from 1,923.2 to 1,598.6 rubles per ton.
Duties for next week were calculated based on indicative prices per ton:
wheat — $230.6 ($233.3 a week earlier);
barley — $170.2 ($170.7 a week earlier);
corn — $200.6 ($203.8 a week earlier).
From July 6, 2022, grain duties are calculated in rubles, not dollars. The duty is 70% of the difference between the base and indicative price. The indicators are based on the prices of export contracts that are registered on the Moscow Exchange.
The base price for calculating the export duty on wheat was revised from June 7, 2023 and increased by 2,000 rubles, amounting to 17,000 rubles per ton for wheat, and 15,875 rubles per ton for barley and corn. As noted earlier in the Ministry of Agriculture, this decision will reduce the export duty rate by 1.4 thousand rubles per ton.
