With the onset of winter, more than half of the corn crops in the region were harvested. The yield of this crop in Primorye in 2023 decreased by 16 c/ha compared to the previous year, amounting to only 54 c/ha.
At the moment, more than 52 thousand hectares of corn have already been harvested. Despite the fact that the plants did not have time to receive a sufficient amount of harvest due to typhoons and cyclones in 2023, this was also caused by waterlogging of the soil. Primorye agricultural producers were able to harvest more than 280 thousand tons of corn thanks to November frosts and lack of snow cover.
Also, soybean harvesting has already been completed, which has been carried out on 266 thousand hectares or 98% of the plan. In addition, an additional 1.1 billion rubles are planned for the development of agriculture in the Primorsky Territory in 2024. These funds are intended to modernize and create agricultural facilities, compensate farmers for the costs of developing poultry and dairy farming, introducing heifers, autumn tillage, purchasing agricultural machinery, equipment and breeding livestock.
Corn and soybeans are the main export crops of Primorsky Krai. Ensuring food security in the region is implemented within the framework of the state program "Development of agriculture and regulation of markets for agricultural products, raw materials and food. Improving the standard of living of the rural population of the Primorsky Territory."
