Decrease in prices for legumes and grain crops in Russia in 2023

In November 2023, the average price of grains in Russia was 10,621 rubles per tonne, which is 4% lower than last year. Prices for rye, buckwheat, corn, soft wheat of the 4th grade, and barley have fallen by 13%, 12%, 10%, 9%, and 5% respectively. However, prices for oats, millet, dried peas, and 3rd grade wheat have increased by 7%, 6%, 5%, and 1% respectively. The overall trend is a decrease in grain prices, but not for all types.

In November 2023, the average price of grain and leguminous crops sold by Russian agricultural organizations was 10,621 rubles per ton. This is 4% lower than in November 2022.

Some types of grain crops have fallen in price over the year. The price of rye decreased by 13%, buckwheat fell in price by 12%, corn became cheaper by 10%, and grade 4 soft wheat fell in price by 9%. Barley and soft wheat grade 5 also fell in price by 5%.

However, not all grain crops have fallen in price. Prices for oats increased over the year by 7%, for millet - by 6%, for dried peas - by 5%, and for grade 3 wheat - by 1%.

Thus, in November 2023, there was a decrease in the average price for grains and leguminous crops sold by Russian agricultural organizations compared to the previous year. However, not all types of grains have fallen in price, as some of them, such as oats, millet, dried peas and class 3 wheat, have become more expensive.
