According to the Eurasian Sugar Association, by November 20 of this year, 1,134.6 thousand hectares of sugar beets were harvested in the EAEU countries, which is 7.3% more than last year. The total harvest was 55.2 million tons, exceeding last year's figure (50 million tons) for the same date.
The average yield of sugar beet in the EAEU is 487 centners per hectare, at the time when in 2022 this figure was 473 centners per hectare.
In the Russian Federation, 1,008.2 thousand hectares of sugar beet crops were harvested, which is 96.6% of the total sown area. The total harvest amounted to 49,188 thousand tons of sugar beets with a yield of 488 centners per hectare.
In the Republic of Belarus, the cleaning of sugar candles has already been completed. 100.8 thousand hectares were harvested, 4,950.4 thousand tons of root crops were collected, and the yield was 491 centners per hectare.
In the Republic of Kazakhstan, 11.8 thousand hectares of sugar beet crops were harvested, which is 73.4% of the total sown area. The total harvest amounted to 470 thousand tons of root crops with a yield of 400 centners per hectare.
In the Kyrgyz Republic, the sugar beet harvest is at its final stage. 13.8 thousand hectares of crops were harvested (98.6% of the area), 616 thousand tons of sugar beets were harvested, the yield was 446 centners per hectare.
By November 20 of this year, EAEU sugar factories processed 34.6 million tons of sugar beets, of which 4.81 million tons of sugar were produced. Last year, 31.9 million tons of beets were processed, but only 4.35 million tons were produced.
