Saratov farmers harvested one and a half million tons of sunflowers

The harvesting of technical crops, including soybeans and sunflower, is nearing completion in the Saratov region. 95% of the soybean fields and 76% of the sunflower planting areas have already been threshed. The sunflower harvest is ahead of last year's results, with 1,524 thousand tons already collected, three times more than the previous year. The Saratov region is the leader in the Volga Federal District in terms of gross collection of oilseeds. The harvest is planned to be completed in the first decade of November, provided favorable weather conditions.

Harvesting of industrial crops is being completed in the Saratov region. By October 24, 95% of the soybean area and 76% of the sunflower area had been threshed.

Harvesting of the main oilseed crop is proceeding at an accelerated pace: by October 24, 1 million 524 thousand tons of sunflower were threshed in the region, while on the same date last year three times less was harvested - 452 thousand tons. In terms of gross harvest of oilseeds, the Saratov region is the leader in the Volga Federal District.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government - Minister of Agriculture Roman Kovalsky, subject to favorable weather conditions, it is planned to complete the sunflower harvest in the first ten days of November.
