Russia is planning to start exporting semolina and rye flour to China, announced the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor).

Russia is planning to start exporting semolina and rye flour to China, as reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor. It is expected that the agreement on protocols with Chinese partners will allow the exports to begin.

Meanwhile, an important issue is the approval for the export of winter wheat and barley to the Chinese market.

According to information from the Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia plans to start exporting semolina and rye flour to China in the near future.

According to the publication "Agroexpert" and the head of the department of internal phytosanitary and land supervision, quality control and grain safety of Rosselkhoznadzor Olga Zakharova, protocols on this product with Chinese organizations have been agreed upon. "And as soon as our Chinese colleagues confirm their readiness to sign these protocols - since they have already been verified for compliance - we will start exporting immediately," she said.

However, Zakharova noted that the priority now is the issue of admitting winter wheat and barley to the Chinese market, as the permit currently applies only to spring varieties.

"Nevertheless, I would like to note that the volumes of spring wheat exports have grown significantly over the past few years - sixfold - and have reached over 300 thousand tons," she noted.

Currently, Russian rapeseed, corn, soybeans, buckwheat, oat flakes, flax, sunflower, spring varieties of wheat and barley, peas, alfalfa, millet, and medicinal plants have access to the Chinese market.
