The implementation of Russia's initiative to deliver 1 million tons of grain to countries in need has started. This was announced by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Vershinin, at a meeting of experts from Russia, Turkey, and Qatar, according to TASS.
"The practical implementation process has begun through contacts with the parties that are supposed to be part of this trilateral agreement. Preliminary contacts are currently underway, and the top priority on the agenda is meetings of experts from the three countries," he said.
"Turkey and Qatar have reacted positively to this on a fundamental level," the diplomat said.
In addition, Vershinin stated that the project related to processing grain from Russia in Turkey is not an alternative to the grain deal. "This is our position, taking into account the needs of the most vulnerable countries. We strive to help these countries in particular," added the deputy minister.
