A working meeting between the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev and the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan Kurbon Khakimzoda took place at the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation in the agricultural sector.
As Dmitry Patrushev noted, the Republic of Tajikistan is an important partner of the Russian Federation in the field of agriculture. Agricultural departments actively cooperate, which contributes to the stable growth of trade turnover.
Over the 11 months of this year, the volume of mutual trade in agricultural products increased by 6%. Dmitry Patrushev confirmed the Russian side’s interest in increasing and diversifying the range of supplies of agricultural products.
The event participants discussed issues of expanding trade in agricultural products, training industry specialists and other topics.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a “road map”, which provides for measures to enhance trade, develop cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine, livestock farming, seed production, innovation and new technologies, as well as in the field of education and research projects. In conclusion, Dmitry Patrushev emphasized that the agreements reached following the meeting contribute to the development of interaction between the countries.
