Sugar production in the Lipetsk region

Sugar beet processing continues in the Lipetsk region. By the morning of January 23, 6 million tons of new crop beets have already been processed, resulting in 845.9 thousand tons of sugar and 281.7 thousand tons of beet pulp. In 2023, it is planned to produce 931.2 thousand tons of sugar. The Lipetsk region is a leader in sugar production in Russia.

In the Lipetsk region, the process of sugar beet processing continues. At the moment, out of six factories located in the region, three are processing this sweet root vegetable.

By the morning of January 23, 6 million tons of beets from the new harvest had already been processed. This beet comes to factories not only from the Lipetsk region, but also from other regions. As a result, 845.9 thousand tons of sugar and 281.7 thousand tons of beet pulp were produced.

It is worth noting that as of the same date last year, 5.2 million tons of beets were processed in the Lipetsk region, and sugar production amounted to 707.9 thousand tons.

Preliminary data show that in 2023, the Lipetsk region will produce 931.2 thousand tons of sugar, taking into account the rest of the 2022-2023 season and sugar produced from beets of the new harvest. The region has been one of the country's leading sugar producers for several years.
