The AAFC forecasts Canadian wheat production to be 33.3 million tonnes in 2024/25, up 1.3 million tonnes from last year. Of this volume, 5.4 million tons will be grain durum.
Wheat consumption in the country next year is expected to be 8.8 million tons, which is .2 million tons more than the previous year. Wheat exports will amount to 24.4 million tons, which is 1.2 million tons more than last year. Wheat ending stocks are estimated at 4.2 million tons, up .2 million tons from the previous year.
Canadian barley production is forecast at 9.3 million tonnes, up .4 million tonnes from last year. Consumption of grain barley is expected to be 6.5 million tons, which is .3 million tons more than in the previous year. Barley exports will remain at 2.8 million tonnes and ending stocks will be .8 million tonnes, unchanged from last year.
Canadian canola production is expected to be 18.4 million tonnes, up .1 million tonnes from last year. Canola consumption will remain at 10.8 million tons and exports will be 7.7 million tons, unchanged from last year. Canola ending stocks are estimated at 1.4 million tons, down .1 million tons from the previous year.
