The country's wheat production forecast for 2024/25 is 33.3 million tonnes, according to the latest report from Agriculture and Food Canada (AAFC). This is 1.3 million tons more than in the previous season. Of this volume, 5.4 million tons will be grain durum.
Wheat consumption in Canada next year is expected to be 8.8 million tonnes, up .2 million tonnes from the previous year. Wheat exports are also expected to reach 24.4 million tons, up 1.2 million tons from the previous year. Wheat ending stocks will be 4.2 million tons, up .2 million tons from the previous year.
Canada's barley production forecast for next year is 9.3 million tonnes, up .4 million tonnes from the previous year. Consumption of grain barley is expected to be 6.5 million tons, which is .3 million tons more than in the previous year. Barley exports will remain at 2.8 million tonnes and ending stocks will be .8 million tonnes, unchanged from the previous year.
Canadian canola production is expected to be 18.4 million tonnes, up .1 million tonnes from the previous year. Canola consumption will remain at 10.8 million tons and exports will be 7.7 million tons, unchanged from the previous year. Canola ending stocks will decrease by .1 million tons to 1.4 million tons.
