After two days of negotiations, ship inspections within the framework of the Black Sea grain deal have been resumed. This was announced by the spokesperson for the UN deal coordinator, Ismini Palla, according to the information from the newspaper "Vedomosti".

"The Joint Coordination Center has resumed ship inspections today after two days of negotiations," she emphasized.

Earlier, the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, reported that inspections were not conducted on the 17th and 18th of April due to a lack of agreement. In particular, on the 17th of April, the Ministry of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine stated that Russia allegedly blocked the inspections of ships within the grain deal for the second time. In turn, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, blamed the Ukrainian side.

On April 11, the Joint Coordination Center (JCC) in Istanbul was unable to carry out ship inspections for the grain deal. The official spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, explained that the parties needed additional time to reach an agreement on operational priorities. He specified that 50 ships are expected to arrive at Ukrainian ports. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the inspection was delayed due to actions by the Ukrainians and the UN. Inspections were resumed on April 12.
