Lipetsk region still holds the second place in Russia in terms of sugar production volume. Currently, the region produces 450.5 thousand tons of sugar, as well as processes 2.9 million tons of new crop beets. This was reported by the head of the region's agriculture department, Sergey Kuzovlev.
The quality and quantity of sugar continue to remain at a high level, which places Lipetsk region among the top five leaders in these indicators in the Russian Federation.
The beet harvesting process is nearing completion, with 93% of the total sown area already harvested, totaling 115.7 thousand hectares. Throughout the season, 3.8 million tons of beetroots have been harvested. The most productive district in beet harvesting is Dobrinsky district, where over 800 thousand tons have already been harvested. At the same time, the highest yield is shown by Stanovlyansky district with an average of 417.6 centners per hectare, surpassing the region's average yield of 355 centners per hectare.
